I have a small network and am the administrator as well as a power user with administrative rights. If I download a program or utility file from one of my workstations and save it to my "Server " file server, I can't then switch over to the file server, open and install it from the file server If I check the file properties from the file server logged in as the Administrator , it reports that as Administrator I have full rights to the file, yet it will not let me load it.
If I right-click and select run as administrator, it still denies me access If I then fire up a IE8 browser on my File server and repeat the download process, then it works I recently upgraded to IE8 and loaded and installed a load of patches, fixes, etc. The IE8 security is set to "Medium".
Is this a new "feature" and not a "Bug" kind of thing???
