In the new trailer, things heat up for the three main characters. First up in the teenage melodrama is Katniss and Gale, who share the aforementioned kiss. Capital punishment: Gale receives a beating by the corrupt fascist government.
Jennifer, who turns 23 on August 15 , is seen in character explaining to Gale the dangers of opposing the fascist society they live in: 'We have to go before they kill us. Back in fighting form: Katniss draws back her bow as she trains for another round of the games. Taking aim: Katniss' training for the second round of games comes with a few high tech holograms as sparring partners.
The hunky actor then grabs Everdeen by the face and plants a deep and overwhelming kiss on her lips - upping the ante as the pair appear to dive into their foxhole romance, stoking their passions with the constant threat of mortal danger.
Gale is later scene tackling an armed soldier and then being whipped as part of his capital punishment for dissidence. But like all good teen romances there is a third party to consider, as Peeta is also in the running for the young woman's affections.
Forced back in: Katniss is made to compete in an all-stars version of the Hunger Games. Tense relationship: Peeta wants more than a pretend romance with Katniss in the new film.
Peeta tells Everdeen: 'You saved us, I know that. But I can't go on acting for the cameras and then ignoring each other in real life. But there are other more pressing matters to consider, as Katniss is made public enemy number one behind closed doors. A politically dissident graffiti message on the side of a building is seen as Katniss zips by on a bullet train: 'The odds are never in our favour'.
We see the rebellious graffiti in the opening moments of the trailer, which begins with ominous tones as Katniss tells her younger sister Primrose: 'You understand that whatever I do it comes back to you and mom. I don't want you to get hurt. The heartbreaking conversation portends a dire future as they sit in a snowy field under a grey overcast sky.
But not all is lost, as Primrose explains: 'Since the last games something is different. I can see it. Tension building: Peeta grows more despondent over the lack of real romance with Katniss. Chosen again: Katniss and Peeta must compete in the all-stars version of the brutal game. Then the trailer runs a montage of Katniss' mockingjay pin becoming the symbol of the rebellion as it is graffitied on walls in train tunnels and is brandished as flag in street riots.
Torn apart: Katniss is once again separated from her sister Primrose Everdeen. Taken by force: The doting older sister is taken away without being able to say goodbye. It then shows, after they are reaped for an all-stars version of the brutal killing game, the new training facility, that features holograms to spar with and new frightening contenders with intimidating fighting skills.
And in one scene Snow can be seen explaining to Katniss: 'You fought very hard in the games Miss Everdeen. But they were games Imagine thousands of your people dead Talking head: Stanley Tucci returns as Caesar Flickerman the media mouth-piece for the games. If you look at Lawrence's other film roles, it wouldn't come as a surprise. In American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook , she gets to say her fair share of swear words on the screen.
Haymitch Abernathy , an ex-Hunger Games winner and mentor to Katniss, often engages in drunk banter, usually sipping on one wine or similar drinks. Hence, in all scenes involving food, you hardly see Haymitch eating anything. Sometimes, he's eating a few vegetables but never any meat like the others. This was done so to suit actor Woody Harrelson's needs as he has been an active proponent of veganism and avoids the consumption of any meat. British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran apparently pitched three songs for Catching Fire , the second installment for the series but they all got rejected.
On the other hand, the franchise's soundtracks have featured various artists from differing genres like Lorde, Coldplay, and The Lumineers to name a few. Fun fact: Ed had earlier tried writing songs for the Twilight series too but faced the same fate. Not many producers were ready to be on-board with a film that had a teenage female protagonist but it all changed when The Hunger Games released in While many know that the screenplay was directly based on Suzanne Collin's novel, what many forget is that its screenplay wasn't commissioned by any studio and was on the Blacklist instead.
For the unacquainted, the Black List is an annual survey on some of the most promising motion picture screenplays that haven't been produced yet. The Hunger Games script was featured in by the site as one of the 'most liked' unproduced scripts. The rest is history. Even if you don't know the character's name, he surely stands out with his bizarre facial hair. One would think he's wearing a fake beard, or extra pieces of hair were applied to his face.
For the two actors, it was like being forced to eat garbage. Scarfing down the meal they both found so repulsive may have been the single most heroic act which occurred on the set of the movie. There are all sorts of accidents that can happen on the set of an action movie. In the worst cases, actors have even been killed, as happened to Brandon Lee when he was accidentally shot while making The Crow.
While working on the Catching Fire entry of the series, Jennifer Lawrence went partially deaf — and it lasted almost a week. During the filming of the cornucopia scene in Catching Fire , Lawrence dove into the water and a jet blasted into her ear. It was severe enough to puncture her eardrum, which later led to an infection. The actress laughs off the aqua-incident now, but had she not regained her aural functions, she may have spent the rest of her life in regret.
You would think that a totally buff expert hunter and fisherman would be super agile and coordinated. In the case of Finnick Odair, not so much. In several interviews with cast members, it was revealed that actor Sam Clafin was totally clumsy day after day while shooting the Hunger Games movies. Is nothing sacred? Wearing her wetsuit on a balmy island day, she developed a nasty itch on her backside.
Rather than relieve it with a customary hand-scratch, she rubbed her hindquarters up against a rock. This was not just any rock, it was a sacred stone on hallowed ground. By doing that, she dislodged the boulder, sending it tumbling down a ravine,w which offended the locals, and rightly so. There are three kinds of people in this world.
On one side are the folks who are smitten with the hunky Liam Hemsworth, his rock-hard body, and suave persona. On the other are the Jennifer Lawrence fans who are drawn to her natural beauty, her attractive aura, and her alluring personality. And there are those who appreciate both stars! Either camp can watch those kissing scenes between the two superstars in Mockingjay not only with great longing, but with great envy. As a goof, both actors made sure their breaths would be as smelly as possible when shooting those smooching sequences, chewing on garlic and tuna in an effort to out-gross each other.
Still want to make kissy-faces with these two? Now that we all know the stinky truth, we can never un-smell the formerly steamy make out sessions. We have to hand it to Jennifer Lawrence. Or maybe make that a double threat. By her own admission, Lawrence just cannot sing and hates doing it.
So of course, she had to do in Mockingjay. Audiences will recall the "Hanging Tree" scene, where Katniss has to belt out a tune her dad taught her. There should be little surprise at this point that such an action-packed span of four violent science-fiction films would end up with so many injuries.
Audiences can easily be fooled that the super-people we root for on screen are actually just normal folk who get injured, as we have already seen. During the filming of Mockingjay , without even knowing it at first, Hemsworth actually acquired a stress fracture on his ankle. What we do know is that he powered through, not missing a day of shooting or causing production delays.
